Venice Biennale 2019 projects by PGC alumni

Are you in Venice for the opening of the The 58th International Art Exhibition or visiting later this year? Make sure not to miss these Peggy Guggenheim Collection Intern Alumni projects:

  • On May 7, NODICE and collective member Jaspal Birdi, presented "Does God Play Dice?". The site-specific installation invited guests to ill the space of a private residence with their personalities, creating an artificial society. A loosely curated one day event, the project brought together diverse artistic experiments from various points of views. It resulted in transforming the private home's kitchen and garden -- typically used for privately entertaining a limited number of family and friends, into an atmosphere open to neighbors, the community, and general public. For more information about the project please email Jaspal Birdi.

  • May 8 - 13: Ameli Klein is working with Columbian artist, Fidel Ernesto Alvarez Causil, to bring his Havana Biennale project to Venice. Exhibiting site-specific, interactive posters, the works will question the current standard of Human Rights. The project is on Via Garibaldi.

  • May 24-26: "Liberta" is a pop up exhibition located at multiple sites across the city. It will showcase young artists in public spaces, far away from the spaces usually associated with art, but all with a close connection to Venice.
